Abbey Ales Limited Brewery

Founded in 1997, Abbey Ales is the first and only brewery in the historic City of Bath England for over forty years, and is the initiative of experienced brewery sales and marketing manager Alan Morgan.

Successfully launched at the Bath CAMRA beer festival in October 1997 Bellringer is now the top selling cask bitter in the World Heritage City of Bath and is as popular with the many visitors to the Georgian City as it is with Bathonians.

Abbey ales has won many awards, 'Beer of the Festival' at The Cotswolds CAMRA festival in July 98, The Devizes CAMRA festival in May 99 and The Bath Camra Beer Festival in October 2000, also runner up at Bath 2001 and a proud finalist in the Champion Beer of Britain competition 2001. Bath MP Don Foster was so impressed with Bellringer he arranged for it to be sold as a guest beer at House of Commons.

Abbey Ales Head brewer Martin Langham is known by other micro brewers as a perfectionist and brews using only the finest quality Maris Otter malt, the soul of the beer, and English Challenger, Goldings and Fuggles hops to produce Bellringer.

Quality ingredients: are the key to any successful product and Abbey ales are fortunate that, these ingredients are readily available to them. They also use localized water that they preheat over night to effectively bitter brew.

Abbey ales currently produces an assortment of seasonal beers they are Bath Star, Chorister and for Christmas Twelfth Night.
